CAPI interviews switching between templates
Monitoring - A fix has been implemented. Additional user actions are required before fieldwork can continue.
A full sync should download the updated 'NfieldChicago' template package and trigger a reboot. After that, things should start working again.

Investigating - We have received reports that CAPI interviews that perform a switch between different templates may find that the interview on the CAPI Client only shows a white screen. We are investigating and will update as soon as we know more.

Database issue in Nfield China
Resolved - An issue on the main Nfield database in China prevented any new data to be added. This resulted in - amongst other things - not being able to create new surveys, not being able to perform online interviews and not being able to sync CAPI interviews.

The issue was addressed and has been resolved.

Scheduled - As announced in previous Nfield Updates, most recently on 1 September 2026, we will be permanently retiring the v1 endpoints of the Nfield public API from 1 October 2026.

We assume you have taken the necessary steps to ensure your tools are not using these endpoints. To help you test your changes and catch any unexpected behaviour, and also identify any tools that may so far have been overlooked, we will be conducting 2 scheduled service interruptions (brownouts) for each region. In the overview below, you will find the exact timings per region.

During these brownouts, the v1 endpoints will be (temporarily) unavailable, while v2 endpoints are unaffected and will continue to function normally. At the end of each brownout, v1 endpoints will be restored. From 1 October 2026, all v1 endpoints will become permanently unavailable.

We advise you to make use of these brownouts to test any changes you have made to tools consuming the Nfield public API and, if necessary, plan for any additional work that may be needed.
